There’s a new I-9 form as of 08/01/2023
Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification: Summary of Changes to Form and Instructions
- New I-9 Form
Beginning Nov. 1, 2023, ONLY the new Form I-9 dated “08/01/2023” may be used. The version date can be found in the lower-left corner of the form. Link to the new Form here. - Remote Document Examination Instructions
(Optional Alternative Procedure to Physical Document Examination)
Instructions added for the new checkbox to indicate when documents were remotely examined. There are rules regarding the remote examination, see instructions here. - Tablets & Mobile Devices
The form can now be filled out on tablets and mobile devices by downloading it onto the device and opening it in the free Adobe Acrobat Reader app. - Gusto Payroll
