A legal executive is a professional person who is a member of the Irish Institute of Legal Executives. In cooperation with solicitors, barristers, Irish courts and other areas of commercial and legal practice, they provide support in general and specialist cases. This goes beyond secretarial or administrative assistance: accumulated practical experience and/or university degrees qualify them to work with a lawyer or other lawyer in handling client cases related to transfer of ownership, probate, criminal, civil, family or other legal matters.
